    • The Marketplace program is designed specifically for product and marketing managers, owners and key decision makers of qualified wholesale, tour operator and travel agency chains.
    • If you purchase, sell or promote travel product in Britain then this Marketplace program is for you.
Why Should You Attend?
    • Attending the Marketplace is a cost and time effective way to meet the latest and greatest export ready product in Britain.
    • The program is an excellent forum to increase your knowledge on Britain and it’s various regions.
    • It will provide an opportunity for you to meet face-to-face for 11 minute individual appointments and gain in-depth knowledge of a wide range of British companies including: regional tourist boards, ground-handlers, attractions, accommodation and transport providers.
    • Build business relationships with an extensive range of British suppliers and tourism boards.
    • NB: Registration is open to one delegate from each qualified travel company.
What is the format?
The program format includes one-on-one appointments with a wide range of British companies including: regional tourist boards, ground-handlers, attractions, accommodation and transport providers. British suppliers will be seated at tables and given circa 11 minutes to present their product and discuss opportunities. Your individual appointment schedule will be available on-site at registration.

What is the Cost?
There is no registration fee to attend the Britain Marketplace. To assist in travel expenses we are offering a travel subsidy for qualified buyers travelling from outside the tri-state area in NYC and then outside the immediate area of Toronto.

*Two nights hotel accommodation (room and tax only) at the relevant Marketplace hotel will also be hosted for those approved buyers travelling from out of the tri-state area in NYC and outside city of Toronto (ie. over 80kms in distance)

The * travel credit is issued as follows –

NYC Event – Buyers travelling from
  • Western Region - US$350.00
  • MidWest Region - US$200.00
  • Eastern Region - US$150.00
Canada Event – Buyers travelling from
  • Western Canada - CAN$300.00
  • Eastern Canada - CAN$200.00

* Travel credit or hosted accommodation is not automatic and buyers will be qualified to receive the approved travel credit rate. Buyers must provide a copy of travel documents including e-ticket or train ticket to receive the credit. Credit payment checks will be sent to buyers on completion of the program. All travel requests including accommodation will be reviewed by the VisitBritain Travel Trade team.

What is Included?
  • Attendance for (1) one delegate to the New York or Toronto Marketplace event
  • Welcome morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea on Marketplace day

  • One and a half days of one-on-one appointments with Britain Suppliers in New York
  • Full day of one-on-one appointments with Britain Suppliers in Toronto
  • Britain Suppliers profile manual
  • Travel credit for approved buyers* (review cost segment)
  • Two nights accommodation in New York or Toronto for approved buyers travelling from out of the tri-state or Toronto region (ie. over 80kms in distance). (Review travel allocation segment for further details)
  • Breakfast daily for buyers in hosted accommodation
  • Welcome Refreshments reception for hosted buyers travelling from outside local area on arrival day ie. Monday 5 October or Wednesday 7 October
Does not include:
  • Domestic flights within North America
  • Hotel accommodation outside the hosted nights
  • Transfers to and from Marketplace hotel
  • Parking at hotel
  • Personal expenses & incidentals
  • Shipment of brochures and presentation material back to the office
  • Travel insurance
How do I Register?
Please complete the company profile form listed on the website. There is a form for New York and a form for Toronto. A member of the VisitBritain Travel Trade team will review your application and will contact you directly to confirm your registration and advise travel credit fees, if applicable.

We have had an overwhelming response of Britain Suppliers participating in Britain Marketplace 2009.

Private Social Functions Policy
We request that Buyers do not participate in Private social functions during any official Britain Marketplace activity or element of the program.

In both New York and Toronto there are available time slots for a British supplier to host you after the official Britain Marketplace evening reception.

Please refer to the schedule for timings.

Failure to comply with this policy will automatically exclude the British supplier from future attendance at this event.
