VisitBritain is pleased to present our annual Britain Marketplace. This event offers an unparalleled opportunity to meet and build relationships with our extensive network of key industry contacts across North America. The following information outlines further details on the program.
One-On-One Appointments with Key North American Buyers:
To maximise your time, we have organized a schedule of one-on-one appointments with key North American Buyers including, wholesale product and marketing managers, owners & managers of travel agency chains and key trade organisation representatives. British suppliers will be seated at tables and given circa 11 minutes to present their product and discuss opportunities. The visiting trade will then rotate to the next table. In New York the program will include one and a half days of one-on-one appointments and one full day of pre-selected appointments in Toronto.
Registration Fees & Inclusions:

New York Event: £900
Toronto Event: £600 + Canadian GST

Online Company Profile Registration Deadline: Friday 15th May
Payment Deadline: Monday 1st June

    Registration Fee includes the following per location:
    • Attendance for (1) one delegate to the New York or Toronto Marketplace events
    • Welcome morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea on marketplace day New York and Toronto
    • Morning tea only on second marketplace day in New York
    • Informal Arrival and Welcome Drinks in both New York and Toronto
    • Networking Cocktail Reception on Marketplace Day
    • Networking dinner with North American Buyers on Tuesday 6 October – New York & Thursday 7 October Toronto
    • One and a half days of one-on-one appointments with key North American Buyers – New York
    • Full day of one-on-one pre-selected appointments with key North American Buyers – Toronto
    • Travel Trade profile manual (one prepared for each city)
    • Discounted airfares with Virgin Atlantic to/from USA

    Does not include:
    • International air travel to United States and Canada
    • Domestic flights within North America
    • Hotel accommodation
    • Transfers to and from hotel
    • Parking at hotel
    • Personal expenses & incidentals
    • Shipment of brochures and presentation material
    • Travel insurance

    Your space has been confirmed by VisitBritain. The next step is to complete the online company profile and the payment form no later than Friday 15th May. This will enable us to provide appointment scheduling information to the North American buyers.

Confirmation:
Your registration should already be confirmed. An automatic message will be sent to you at the completion of the company profile and payment form. If required a tax invoice will be forwarded to you from VisitBritain. Full payment must be received by Monday 1st June 2009.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Air Travel:
Virgin Atlantic is offering Britain suppliers 5% discount off all fares and all classes on all flights from UK to London. This discount is off all classes, including sale fares and will even apply to the last seat held on the aircraft on the day before departure (if available). We have negotiated the following rates at the event venues in each city. Pre and post nights can also be reserved (based on availability).

An accommodation booking form will be forwarded to you, on confirmation of your registration and will be included in your Supplier Operation Manual.

Giveaways:
You are welcome to bring along giveaways for the North American Buyers one on one-appointment sessions – minimum 50 recommended for New York and 50 for Toronto.
Presentation Materials:
We recommend that you bring portable presentation materials such as presentation folders; photographs and or any other materials that would best represent your product for these appointments. We will endeavour to have sufficient access to power for computer/PowerPoint presentations; however we highly recommend that you also bring back-up materials should you encounter laptop difficulties.
Display Material:
You will be seated at a small cocktail round style table for the marketplace forum (tables will be dressed with plain cloths). You can bring your own display materials: i.e. table-cloths and display items – DO NOT bring pop-up displays – there is no space in the meeting rooms and VisitBritain will be featuring the corporate Britain-wide destination images. Further information will be provided in the Supplier Operation Manual that will be posted on the website soon.
Supplier Operation Manual:
A manual is currently being developed to assist you in planning your trip to North America, including your accommodation booking form. On completion of your online profile a password will be forwarded to you to allow access to the Britain Supplier Operation Manual. The manual will be housed on the Britain Marketplace website. More details to come.
Visa to USA:
From January 2009 the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) came into effect, making it mandatory for anyone wishing to travel to the USA on business or pleasure to submit their name, passport number and answer various questions to get up to 2 years travel authorisation in the USA. Private Social Functions Policy
Private social functions are not permitted to occur during any official Britain Marketplace activity or element of the program.

In both New York and Toronto there are available time slots for you to host buyers after the official Britain Marketplace evening reception.

Please refer to the schedule for timings.

Failure to comply with this policy will automatically exclude you from future attendance at this event.
