VisitBritain is pleased to present our annual Britain Marketplace. This event offers an unparalleled opportunity to meet and build relationships with our extensive network of key industry contacts across North America. The following information outlines further details on the programme

One-On-One Appointments with key North American Buyers:

To maximise your time, we have organized a schedule of one-on-one appointments with key North American Buyers including wholesale product managers and owners & managers of travel agency chains. British suppliers will be seated at tables and given circa 11 minutes to present their product and discuss business opportunities. Buyers will rotate according to their personalised schedule. In New York the programme will include one and a half days of prescheduled appointments with one full day in Toronto.

Registration Fees & Inclusions:

New York Event: £1150
Toronto Event: £600 + Canadian GST

Company Profile Registration Deadline: Wednesday 30th June 2010

Registration Fee includes the following per location:

  • Attendance for one delegate to the New York or Toronto Marketplace events
  • Welcome morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea on marketplace day
  • Morning tea only on day two of Marketplace (NYC)
  • Networking dinner during Marketplace (NYC)
  • VIP receptions with North American Buyers on Monday 4 October (NYC) & Thursday 7 October (Toronto)
  • One and a half days of one-on-one appointments (NYC)
  • Full day of one-on-one appointments (Toronto)
  • Buyer profile manual
  • Discounted airfares with Virgin Atlantic to/from USA

Does not include:

  • International air travel to the United States and/or Canada
  • Domestic flights within North America
  • Hotel accommodation
  • Transfers to and from hotel
  • Parking at hotel
  • Personal expenses & incidentals
  • Shipment of brochures and presentation material
  • Travel insurance

The next step is to complete the online company profile no later than Wednesday 30th June 2010 and the payment form within 30 days of receiving the invoice. This will enable us to provide appointment scheduling information to the North American buyers.

Confirmation:

Your registration should already be confirmed. An automatic message will be sent to you at the completion of the company profile and payment form. Please pay in full within 30 days of receiving the invoice.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Air Travel:

Virgin Atlantic is pleased to offer participants attending the 2010 Visit Britain Marketplace a 10% discount on applicable published fares at the time of booking, in any one of their three award-winning cabins: Upper Class, Premium Economy, or Economy Class. This discount can also be applied to published sale fares, which may be in effect at the time of the booking, and is valid for travel to the USA from the UK between 24 September 2010 and 15 October 2010. All travel must be completed by 15 October. All terms and conditions of the published fare apply, and will not be waived.

In order to book this offer, delegates need to:

2. Advise staff that they are a participant in the VisitBritain 2010 Marketplace conference
3. Provide the exact dates they want to travel
4. Provide credit card for payment

At the time of ticketing, Virgin staff will issue tickets with the appropiate code to ensure a 10% discount is applied.

Hotel Accommodation:

We have negotiated the following rates at the event venues in each city. Pre and post nights can also be reserved (based on availability).

Giveaways
You are welcome to bring along giveaways for the North American Buyers' one on one-appointment sessions – minimum 60 recommended for New York and 50 for Toronto.

Presentation Materials
We recommend that you bring portable presentation materials such as presentation folders; photographs and or any other materials that would best represent your product for these appointments. Please notify us during registration if you will require power for computer/PowerPoint presentations.

Display Material
You will be seated at a small cocktail round style table for the marketplace forum (tables will be dressed with plain cloths). You can bring your own display materials: i.e. table-cloths and display items. Pop-up displays and nomadic stands are not permitted as there is no space in the meeting rooms and VisitBritain will be featuring the corporate Britain-wide destination images. Further information is provided in the Supplier Operation Manual.

Visa to USA
From January 2009 the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) came into effect, making it mandatory for anyone wishing to travel to the USA on business or pleasure to submit their name, passport number and answer various questions to get up to 2 years travel authorization in the USA. Private Social Functions Policy
Private social functions are not permitted to occur during any official Britain Marketplace activity or element of the program. In both New York and Toronto there are available time slots for you to host buyers outside of the official Britain Marketplace programme. Please refer to the schedule for timings. In accordance with North American business practice, your cooperation with this policy is appreciated and expected.
